Senior Client Manager
Looking for a change? Tired of the endless cycle of long hours and limited growth? Imagine a role where work-life balance isn’t just possible, but prioritised.
Welcome to Your Future on the Sunshine Coast
Senior Client Manager – Partnership Potential
You’ve built the technical skills. You know your way around tax, Xero and a set of financials. You can manage clients and get the work done. But perhaps you’re looking for something more. More opportunity to lead. More influence over how things are done. More meaningful client relationships. And potentially, a genuine pathway towards partnership.
At Wardle Partners Accountants & Advisors, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Client Manager who wants to help shape what comes next for our clients, our team and our firm.
Making life easier for our clients
More than managing a portfolio
You’ll manage a portfolio of approximately 100–120 SME taxation clients and lead a small accounting team. But we’re not looking for someone who simply keeps the work moving.
We want someone who builds strong client relationships, communicates clearly, thinks ahead and genuinely cares about making life easier for our clients.
You’ll mentor your team, keep jobs and deadlines on track and look for opportunities to improve the way we work. See a better way of doing something? We want to hear it.
Our values
What matters to us
We’ve been part of the Sunshine Coast business community for more than 40 years, and our values shape how we work with each other and our clients.
If these behaviours come naturally to you, there’s a good chance you’ll feel at home here.

Be Caring
Care about the person behind the numbers and support the people around you.

Be Empowering
Help clients and teammates gain the confidence and knowledge to make better decisions.

Be Excellent
Take pride in your work, keep learning and always look for ways to improve.

Be Positive
Problems happen. We focus on solutions, support each other and keep moving forward.
What we're looking for
You’ll need strong public practice experience, full CA or CPA qualifications and confidence using Xero. SMSF compliance experience would be an advantage.
Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who:
- communicates exceptionally well;
- genuinely enjoys looking after clients;
- is proactive, organised and accountable;
- enjoys mentoring and developing others;
- wants to keep learning and growing;
- isn’t afraid to challenge how things are done; and
- can turn complicated accounting information into conversations clients actually understand.
What’s in it for you?
- Genuine partnership potential, including possible equity opportunities.
- Early-finish Fridays and a strong focus on work-life balance.
- Paid CA/CPA memberships and ongoing professional development.
- A stable, supportive team, with many team members having been with us for 15+ years.
- Modern technology and systems – and an openness to doing things better.
- Health, wellbeing and team activities, including fitness challenges.
- Relocation support if you’re moving to the Sunshine Coast.
Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact rather than simply fill a position.
We’re doing applications differently
A polished resume can tell us where you’ve worked. It doesn’t necessarily tell us how you think, communicate, lead or build relationships. So, we’d like you to answer five questions.
You can record a video or submit your answers in writing through our online application form. No fancy video editing required, we want to meet the real you.
- You inherit a small accounting team tomorrow. They’re good people, but jobs are getting stuck, deadlines are slipping and everyone feels busy. What are the first three things you do?
- Tell us about someone you’ve helped develop professionally. What did you do, and what changed for them?
- We’re offering a genuine opportunity to progress towards partnership. What does being a Partner in an accounting firm mean to you, and what do you think you’d need to demonstrate to be offered it?
- Imagine you’ve been with us for one year and you’re absolutely loving your role. What would need to have happened during the year for you to feel that way?
- Tell us about a client relationship you’re particularly proud of. What did you do that made you more than just their accountant?
Could this be your next step?
You don’t need to be unhappy where you are to wonder what else might be possible. If you’re ready for more leadership, more influence, great client relationships and the opportunity to build towards partnership on the Sunshine Coast, we’d love to hear from you.
